“...the more I think it over, the more I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.”
🤍 from the hearth 🤍
Dear friend,
Valentine’s Day holds a special place in my heart, but that hasn’t always been the case. Consumer culture bombards us with the notion that love is a transaction—that it can be quantified and purchased, neatly packaged into mass-produced boxes and tied with ribbons and bows. This notion never sat well with me.
But when I began to truly love myself—beyond surface-level indulgences like face masks and mani/pedis disguised as self-care—every day transformed into a celebration. Now, I choose to view the holiday as an extension of that personal celebration, a time to revel in all the things I hold dear—creativity, comfort, connection—honoring the abundant love that surrounds me.
In this edition of Snuggery, we’re saying fuck you to the man and embracing a different philosophy—one that recognizes love as a sacred bond, not to be bought or sold, but treasured, nurtured, and enjoyed.
So, whether you’re spending the day solo, surrounded by friends, or wrapped in the arms of a special someone, let’s raise a glass to love—the love we strive to cultivate within ourselves, and the love we share with one another. Here’s to me, and here’s to you.
☃️ seasonal selections ☃️
This Victorian Puzzle Purse is one of the dreamiest I’ve seen and reminds me so much of the paper fortune tellers I made as a child. Perfect Valentine’s craft! I’ll for sure be making one. Read about the adorable history of the Puzzle Purse here.
I remember reading this “Mountain Dew Commercial Disguised as a Love Poem” for the first time in one of my college poetry classes. I instantly burst into tears. So funny and joyful and pure.
For a timeless tale of love this V Day, look no further than Pride & Prejudice. I adore this cover, and the 2005 movie adaptation is unmatched (the Darcy hand flex is forever seared into my memory; I repeatedly daydreamed about it when I first read the book as a teen, and the movie definitely didn’t help).
Why not enjoy a couple of Cupid’s Cocktails this Galentine’s Day? So sweet and perfect for the occasion.
And if nobody can afford this Vintage “I Love You” Typewriter Charm, then let’s all at least admire her beauty together… I wonder what secrets she holds.

Bewitched by the beauty of one another, the elderly couple couldn’t help but indulge in cataglottism.

If you could capture the essence of true love in one taste, what flavor would it be? 💓🍬
