to be alive

beneath cherry blossoms.”

💛 from the hearth 💛

Dear friend,

Before we get into this week’s postcard, I want to first apologize for failing to send one last week. My parents were in town and, rather than frantically assemble a sub-par edition, I decided to relax and enjoy time with them.

Now, onto the regularly scheduled program…

Happy spring! I hope you’ve had the most splendid first few days of the season, filled with sweet sunshine, sauntering strolls, and so much blooming beauty.

Whether you’re painting eggs in preparation for Easter, weaving flower crowns in celebration of Ostara, or simply reveling in the longer days and warmer nights ahead, may your spring be filled with enchantment. I hope the season showers you with a whole lot of magic and a little bit of mayhem.

And if the warmth of spring has not yet reached your doorstep, allow this postcard to whisk you away, transporting you to a lovely land where the azaleas are aplenty and the breezes bewitching.

🐝 seasonal selections 🐝

  • To me, “Love You” by The Free Design is the quintessential spring song. I want it to be playing when I die. It always fills me with such playful, giddy energy whenever I listen!

  • Nobody does quirky spring accessories quite like Kate Spade, and this wicker snail purse has me in awe. Somebody treat yourself… 👀

  • Looking for the perfect springtime sweet? These lemon daisy tartlets are precious. I haven’t made them yet but I’m excited to whip some up this weekend!

🐣 spectacular vernacular 🐣

virescent [vai-RES-uhnt] (adj.) • Latin

  1. becoming green or starting to show greenness; greenish; in the process of becoming verdant

Once barren and brown, the forest floor now shone virescent with new life, the tender shoots and budding leaves just beginning to emerge.

🌼 cozy conversations 🌼

What small, simple spring pleasure brings you the most joy and rejuvenation? Is it the sound of birdsong in the morning, the sight of flowers blooming, or maybe the feeling of warm sunlight on your skin? Take a moment to reflect on these simple delights and share how they uplift your spirit during this season of renewal.

A Reader’s Cozy Corner

“One of the windows [at my grandparents’ house] had a large windowsil which was covered by a curtain. When I was on it, I could not be seen by anyone, except perhaps if they were outside the window looking in. I loved to hide there for hours!” Thanks for sharing your memories of such a sweet space, Jixie. Sounds straight out of a fairytale. :‘)

Thanks for reading and I do hope you have the snuggest of Thursdays. I’m headed to a new rooftop bar that overlooks Tampa Bay this weekend!

Until next week, stay cozy.

With warmth and whimsy,
